This 12 months’s “DadOutdoors” Photograph Contest was an enormous hit, and we obtained a whole lot of nice images of dads having fun with every little thing from fishing to searching to climbing. You would really feel how proud of us had been to submit images of their dads, and most of the posts on Fb and Instagram included stunning messages of thanks for all that dads do.
Final week, we introduced you with 10 finalists for the competition’s prizes. The voting for the highest spots was intense, with the ultimate tally displaying simply three votes separating second and third locations. Congrats to all of the photographers who made the finals!
Your best choice is @macsonthefly‘s great shot (above) of a dad sharing the success of catching a trout along with his youngsters and the household canine. Younger Wyatt caught the gorgeous fish, and his sister Evelyn offers it her utmost consideration. Duke the canine is captured in mid-shake, including a way of chaos to the entire picture. As voter Phoenix wrote, “I don’t really feel just like the MacDonalds had been catching many fish that day,” however they had been definitely making unbelievable recollections. For capturing such a joyful picture, the MacDonalds will obtain a Helios three Fly Rod of their selection.

In second place is a touching picture of a dad and son sharing a significant look on the way in which again from the river. Anders Brown (@andersbrowntrout) writes, “The picture was taken by a buddy of ours. It’s of my dad, Dan Brown, and myself once I was about seven years previous. We had simply completed an extended day going after huge, early-season trout at Seven Pines Lodge in Lewis, Wisconsin, the place he guided on the time. He has all the time been my go-to fishing associate and has instilled a life-long ardour of fly angling in me!” For coming in second, Anders will get an American-made Recon Fly Rod.

Third place went to this enjoyable shot of a dad and his most prized 10-pounder ever. Winner Corey Anacker (@coreyanacker) describes how the scene got here collectively:
The picture is of my new child son, Rex on my residence river, the South fork of the Snoqualmie. My spouse was sympathetic to the very fact I hadn’t obtained a lot river time in and had poor luck with winter steelhead that 12 months, so collectively we deliberate the fly fishing themed new child images. The crocheted costume was from Etsy and my sister was the photographer. I even managed to make a pair casts to some little risers throughout a lens/diaper change and pulled in an ideal little native coastal cutthroat. All in all it was a terrific first outing on the river with my boy.

Everybody who voted for our finalists was eligible for a prize, as properly.
