PRESS RELEASE
Seighford Fishing Lakes – Week ended 10/05/09
An intresting and busy week at seighford with plenty of sport for both game and coarse anglers despite the unsettled weather.
Fly Fishing
The lakes were heavily restocked at the beginning of the week, which means that there is a good mix of residents and newly introduced fish. The evening rise is now a regular feature and both lakes are alive with rising trout most evenings. Best methods are small nymphs fished high in the water or cdc dries. Mr Roderick over from France took advantage of the excellent sport and had 23 and 17 on two evening sessions.
Best fish fell to regular rod Mr Edge, as superb 12lb rainbows which took a dry daddy.
Coarse Fishing
The fish are now feeding hard on the Old Pool with regular bags of solb, bream and carp. Two lads from the potteries fished with buzzers and boilies and took two lovely doubles, 12lbs and 10lb.
Fishery owner Phil Dixon had heard many rumours of a near 30lb fish in the Old Pool but was not sure if they were true until be caught the fish late one evening.
The large stocking of mirrors into the Horseshoe Pool went well and these are now giving good sport.
Fishery owner Phil Dixon says
“I am Delighted that despite the inclement weather anglers are enjoying great sport at seighford. If you are a Fly angler try our evening rise – it is fantastic. For the coarse angler have a go at our Old Pool, your next fish may be a belting bream or a huge carp.”Web: www.SeighfordLakes.com
