PRESS RELEASE

Fly Fishing

Fishing has been fantastic over the past few weeks with every angler catching and on a variety of methods.  Terry Sinclair and his son showed the way this week taking 35 fish between them all on dries,  They fished mainly Black CDC'S on both lakes with 6lb line on a 15ft leader.  Fish have been feeding well up on the surface making the dry fly sport unbelievable and if the evenings are warm and calm then they really do feed hard.  Buzzers, Nymphs and lures are still catching plenty of fish.  The Swan neck pool is fishing better with the fish holding down near the lodge and up the top end of the lake,  The fish in the Railway pool are still shoaled up and are holding in one corner hopefully the weather will start cooling down and the fish will spread out.  Hopefully see you soon Tight Lines.

Coarse Fishing

The coarse fish have slowly started to come back on the feed with anglers catching some steady bags of fish with a lot of bream showing up on the feeder.  Pegs 1 to 8, 12, 16, 20 to 22 have been fishing the best with the pole or feeder into the middle or island.  Corn, Pellet and maggot have been the baits catching the majority of fish fished on the bottom.  This years carp which were stocked in March have had a good years growth in the lake and are now starting to hit some good weights Local angler Chris had good sport on the Old Pool and his best fish of the day tipped the scales to 12lb a lovely Common Carp which was taken on a Tutti Fruity Bollie.  With the weather starting to cool down the fish should really get there heads down and start feeding up ready for the winter so get up here and give it a go Tight Lines Phil Dixon.
