PRESS RELEASE

week ending  14/9/09

Fly Fishing

The trout lakes are now fishing really well with every angler catching plenty of fine fully finned rainbows well into double figures.  A variety of flies from dries, Buzzers, Nymphs and lures are working with black/green fritz being the most productive,  they new pegs down near the lodge on the Swan Neck have been dug out and are holding a lot of fish so don't forget to try them.  With the weather cooling down now the fish should keep feeding hard and give anglers plenty of sport.  To make sure every angler stands a fair chance around the lakes we ask if anglers could move around the lakes after catching 5 fish in one spot;  Many thanks and see you all soon Tight Lines Phil Dixon.

Coarse Fishing

Finally the carp have woken up and started to feed a bit more than the last two weeks,  Big bags are not coming off yet but anglers have been catching bags up to 40lb now with some nice commons starting to show into double figures.  Peg 22 has finally been completed and is looking good down in the bottom corner of the lake and should fish really well tight to the reeds;  Pegs 1,2,4,12,16,18,20 and 21 have been producing steady bags.  Top baits have been maggots and worm for the silver fish and for the carp pellet, corn and paste.  Anglers have been catching on the feeder tight up to the island on the middle pegs and on the reeds down on 20 and 21.  Hopefully the fish will carry on feeding and we will see anglers catching plenty of fish.  Tight Lines Phil Dixon.
