Old Pool - Coarse Fishing

As the name says it’s the oldest lake on the site and the first lake to be got stocked this year with a real good head of mixed coarse fish. At 2 acres this lake offers every coarse angler what they want a good varity of fish at different sizes. There are 20 pegs on this lake with two of them being a double peg so you can fish alongside your mate or partner. Plenty of sport can be had on the Lake no matter what the weather because the variety of fish will feed in different conditions; the lake holds Mirror, Common, and Crucian Carp, bream, roach, rudd, tench, gudgeon and perch. Old Pool is a great match lake, each peg is similar with the main island in the centre which can be covered from nearly every peg, the far end of the lake is lined with rushes and offers great cover for the bigger fish. The lake averages 5ft with shallow water around the island and the reed beds. All baits work well on here at different times of year maggots will catch you a lot of fish but the bigger more wiser fish will be taken on more natural and bigger baits, Keep your eye on the website to see what baits and pegs are fishing the best. A Varity of coarse tackle and bait is sold in the lodge so don’t worry if you need more tackle we will have it. Open matches will be held on this lake, if your club wants to book the lake to hold a match then a special price can be arranged just contact the fishing lodge, all keep nets will be supplied.
