Seighford fishing report
Week ending 22/01/2012
Trout Fishing.
Trout have carried on feeding well throughout the mild weather this winter with anglers having some of the best sport i have ever seen. Every angler has been catching trout this week with Phil Harding from Derby showing the way by taking 14 fish up to 11lb. Phil Harding made his first ever trip to the fishery this week and what a trip it was taking 14 fish off both lakes all on small PTN. Phil landed fish of 11lb, 8lb, two at 6lb and the rest all over 2lb fishing a floating line with a very long Fluorocarbon leader and a size 14 PTN.
Various Lures are still taking fish with all the dark colours working well such as black, black/green, olive and brown, Anglers have also caught on pink this week. Good fishing should continue this week as another stocking will be going into both lakes. A lot of doubles have been coming out and will keep going in, this is the time to get yourself a double figure trout.
Seighford Lakes are holding a heat of the World Masters run by ex World Champion Iain Barr, the heat will be held on the 10th March and anyone can enter this individual competition and everyone will get a goody bag worth £50 just for giving it a go, If you are interested just get in touch with the lodge on 01785 282967.
